I represent Elizabeth (Isabel) Foster Villar Suarez. I was confirmed at Ft. Barrancas on May 21, 1798, by the Bishop of Louisiana and the Floridas, Rev. Luis Peñalver y Cardenas. My parents were Thomas Foster and Maria Lucemberg Foster. My first husband was Martin Villar. We had three children: Martin, John Augustine, and Victor. After Martin Villar died in 1819, I married Joseph Suarez in Mobile and we had two children: Joseph and Elizabeth Ann. Both Martin Villar and Joseph Suarez were descendants of men who served with Bernardo de Galvez, who took Pensacola from the British in 1781. My family lived in Baldwin County, Alabama, but we had strong ties to Pensacola and according to deed records, retained property in the city for some time.
