Martin Villar

I represent Martin Villar. I was born about 1815 in Pensacola, the son of Elizabeth Foster Villar and Martin Villar. The Villar family are descendants of two brothers who fought with Bernardo de Galvez in 1781. My father died in 1819 and my mother remarried to Joseph Suarez. I had two brothers and two half-siblings. While the family was probably in Baldwin County, Alabama at the time of the changing of the flags, we maintained strong ties with Pensacola and owned property there for many years. In 1837, I married Elizabeth (Isabel) Kee in Pensacola.
