I represent Martin, a boy of color enslaved in the household of the free parda woman Euphrosina Hinnard. I was baptized by Father Coleman at St. Michael’s on July 14, 1819, a few weeks after my birth. My mother was Victoria, a negra woman who was enslaved in the same household. My father is listed as no conocido (unknown), but that usually means that the man either did not want or was not able to acknowledge me. I also had a brother named Florencio.
