I represent Doña Maria Gonzalez, a blanca girl born in Pensacola. At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 1 year old. My parents were Don Celestino Gonzalez and his wife, Doña Maria de la Rua Gonzales. My grandfather was the rancher Manuel Gonzalez, a Spaniard, and our house outside of town was where General Andrew Jackson and his troops camped when he first arrived in the area. Our household was large and consisted of my grandparents and their nine children, including one other who was married and had a small child.
